Atlanta is a true southern gem, a city of hospitality and fun amidst the high rises and traffic. Embrace the love and enjoy yourselves! April is a wonderful time to get out and enjoy the opening of MLB with a Braves game, attend a festival (or several), or tour the town. There’s always something to do.
Head out to Sun Trust Park a couple of hours early before a Braves game to experience all it has to offer. You can check their schedule for a day that works for you. It’s a “must see” for all baseball fans.
Once you’ve done that, you can enjoy the REST of what Atlanta has to offer! The offerings are many, my friend. Plus, April is a perfect time to get out and be able to enjoy yourself without sweltering heat being an issue! This is a month for festivals: Writers (5-6), Music & Beer (7), Spring on Ponce (7-8), Dogwood (13-15), Film (13-22), Grilled Cheese (14-15), Renaissance (4/14-6/3), Dunwoody (18-22), Alive in Roswell (19), Craft Beer (20-22), Arab (21-22), Kennesaw (21-22), Comedy (26-29), Inman Park (27-29), Clarkson (28), Beer (28), Chicken (28), Cajun (28-29), and Smyrna (28-29).
Don’t worry if festivals are NOT your cup of tea. There are plenty of other events scheduled to choose from or you can take a movie tour, several of those also (check Groupon for discounted tickets). Even if you live in the metro area for years, you may never have time to see and do everything this fine city has to offer.
For those of you who do not live here or maybe are newly relocated, when you go to a restaurant and the waitress comes to take your drink order you will be asked what kind of Coke you want. You didn’t misunderstand, that’s just an Atlanta-thing. When you say yes, you’ll next be asked what kind you want – that is when you can say Sprite or Dr Pepper. Also, if you ask for tea know that you will be brought sweet tea. You only need to tell them if you want unsweetened. This IS the south and some things do not change. Above all else, welcome to Atlanta! Enjoy your time with us!
