If brunch is a big part of your lifestyle, you won’t want to miss Brunchcon. This epic celebration of all things brunch is coming to Chicago on August 19, 2018 at the Chicago Windy City Fieldhouse.
How did Brunchcon get started?
Now in its third year, Brunchon was founded by Sarelyn Radecke who was working at Eventbrite, the event ticketing site. She recognized the potential for success in a festival that combined food, alcohol, and selfies. Today, Brunchcon is touring 8 major cities in the US each year. In case you’re wondering, brunch itself got started during Prohibition when adults discovered that cocktails with orange juice and tomato juice were delicious ways to hide the fact that you were drinking alcohol.
What’s happening at the Chicago Brunchcon this year?
Each ticket comes with one brunch bite from at least 30 local restaurants and vendors, along with a bottomless Mimosa bar and an open Bloody Mary Bar. There’s also a DJ, games including MIMOSA PONG, Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, and Ladder Ball, plus lots of photo booth opportunities, and a curated market of brunch related goods.
How can I go?
Prices range from $65 for general admission to $85 for VIP sessions. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, and the website also provides updated information on discounts, packages, and other details. Admission is limited to adults over 21. VIP ticket holders enjoy a half hour early entry to avoid the lines, a gift bag valued at more than $150, and a VIP lounge. There is one morning and one afternoon session each for VIPs and general admission between 9 am and 4pm.
