Food trucks are fast, cheap, and delicious. The only problem is that it can be hard to keep up with all the choices, especially in a busy city like Chicago. You could check Twitter and rush around town trying to make each stop or do it the easy way. Visit the West Town Food Truck Social on October 5 and 6, 2018. Here’s what you need to know.
Now in its third year, this will be a food and art festival as Food Truck Social teams up with the West Town Art Walk. That means you can snack and stroll through over 35 West Town shops, businesses, restaurants, and galleries while sampling food truck cuisine from over 15 of the most popular local food trucks. It’s a celebration of art in all its forms from visual to culinary.
Your dining choices so far include 5411 Empanadas, Beavers Coffee & Donuts, Boo Coo Roux, Bruges Brothers, Carnivale Food Truck, Donermen, El Patron Food Truck, Happy Lobster Truck, Izakaya Yume Sushi, Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill, Lucy’s, Pierogi Wagon, and Yum Dum. There will also be adult beverages including beer and spirits from event sponsors Tecate, Prairie Organic Vodka, and Douglas & Todd Bourbon Whisky.
It’s all scheduled for 4 pm to 10 pm on October 5 (Friday), and 11 am to 10 pm on October 6 (Saturday). Just head to Noble and Chicago Avenue next to Eckhart Park, right in the heart of West Town.
Admission to the event is free. You can purchase regular-sized menu items or get a $20 sampler ticket that allows you to try six mini portions from participating food trucks.
