If there was ever a week to put meal prep aside and decide to go out to eat in Chicago, it is during Restaurant Week. Taking place January 25th through February 7th in 2019, the 14-day affair that is Restaurant Week features more than 370 restaurants in the city and the surrounding suburbs offering up prix fixe menus for patrons to enjoy. It is a celebration that is organized by Choose Chicago, a whole organization dedicated to showing off what is best in Chicago, and in this case, showing off that the city is more than just deep dish pizza.
For the prix fixe menus, prices start at $24 for brunch/lunch menus and $36 for dinner menus. Unfortunately, these prices don’t include beverages, tax, or tips. Aside from paying for dinner, the event itself costs nothing else to participate, you merely need to pick a participating restaurant and make plans to go out and eat there. Due to the volume of people coming into the city in order to eat out, it is highly recommended that you make a reservation at your desired pick of restaurant for the night. This is Chicago’s way of showing off how diverse the culinary scene is in the city. You may love a restaurant and eat there every day, but during Restaurant Week, it is the time to get out there and see what else you have been missing.
