A homeowner in St. Charles, Illinois contacted AAA Appliance Service Center because their Wolf oven was not heating properly. The oven would not heat above the “LOW” setting, the temperature display was acting erratically, and the customer occasionally heard a clicking noise during operation.

This appliance was a Wolf electric wall oven, model SO30F/S. The lower bake element had been replaced previously, but the heating problem remained.

What We Found

Our technician performed diagnostic testing and placed the oven into service test mode. During testing, we confirmed that the lower bake element was not receiving power during the bake cycle.

Although the bake element had already been replaced, additional testing revealed a failed component in the bake circuit. This prevented the oven from heating properly and caused the ongoing performance issues.

The photos above show the appliance before repair, the model identification tag, the failed component, and the replacement part used to restore operation.

The Repair

After identifying the failed component, our technician completed the repair and tested the oven through a full heating cycle.

Once repairs were completed:

  • The oven heated normally.
  • The bake cycle operated correctly.
  • The temperature display returned to normal.
  • The clicking noise was eliminated.

The Wolf oven was restored to proper working condition and is ready for everyday use again.
